On January 27th, 2010, the much anticipated Apple tablet was announced at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco. Apple came prepared with a stellar presentation that have caught many by surprise.

They did not only deliver another revolutionary mobile product, but delivered the whole package. By whole package I mean, break through data deals with AT&T, all starting from $14.99 for 250MB, and unlimited for $29.99. I can only hope Rogers, Telus, & Bell will follow in the same footsteps!

Apple did a really good job at pricing these tablets. Starting at $499, it is almost a no brainer to take an iPad over any NetBook that is currently on the market. Apple is truly innovators of our time, what can I say?

There’s no such thing as half assing it when it comes to an Apple product. From packaging, hardware, aesthetics, and software, they are tailored to perfection.

In what situation would you need this? I am sure a lot of you have been asking each other, “What is the iPad’s sole purpose?” and, “Why do I need this, especially when my iPhone and Macbook can already do it all?”

Apple iPad’s competitors are NetBooks, which are made by various manufactures. The purpose for these machines is to be lightweight, compact, and tackle simple tasks.

You would not rely on these machines to do intensive processing, but to do the general day to day work. With that said, Apple has yet again raised the bar and packed a mean punch behind their tablet.

Don’t let the iPad fool you, this revolutionary tablet will be in it’s own league for a while.

Interesting article! I had thought they were like $800 or something ridiculous. I think I’ll wait for the next gen since I’m sure there will be and first gens are always buggy.

Yah.. i’m never buying first gen again. My macbook sucks.. That being said the iPad is tempting, but the lack of USB ports, network sharing, etc is stopping me from wanting one, unless of course there is an app to access my network shares. I don’t want to have to connect this to another computer to get at my stuff.

I am not too concerned about the first generation because it is based off the iPhone OS 4 which they will new features and other good stuff. The only thing I would check first is the hardware, make sure it is adequate for long term use. I will probably buy one because I would like to start developing an application for it.
