Here are some events that are happening around Vancouver in the coming weeks.

Urban Variety Un-Formal

Urban Variety is hosting it’s inaugural event, the Un-Formal.

Come out to the V Lounge at Earls Yaletown on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 6:30pm for the opportunity to meet new people, win prizes, and help raise money for BC’s children with special needs. Tickets are $15 at the door ($10 advance), and include a drink, plus free appetizers. For more information, call the Variety Club office at 604-320-0505.

Urban Variety is the youth (19-34) branch of the Variety Club. The Variety Club is a charity for BC children with special needs, helping to enrich their lives. Funds raised help provide medical assistance, accommodation, specialized equipment, plus the Variety Club provides grants to other children’s organizations.

You may already be familiar with events that the Variety Club hosts, such as the Show of Hearts Telethon (coming up at the end of January) and BC Bowls for Kids. However, Urban Variety provides the opportunity for young professionals and students to get involved without feeling like they don’t fit in with the older members. They provide opportunities to develop leadership skills and networking, while helping others.
