This past month I was fortunate enough to join an exclusive club, to have received a box of chocolates over the holidays. From the branded holiday ribbon, to the hastily scratched off price tag, it takes a true colleague, nay, friend, to recognize the sentimental value of gifting a Hershey’s Pot of Gold, Milk Chocolate Collection. I would like to share that joy with you today.

This is by no means a mere Assortment of chocolates; a patchwork comparable to a neighborhood yard sale. This milk chocolate Collection, however, conjured up the romance of the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, or of nobility eating these chocolates in the courtyards of Versailles. Now thanks to Greg from Sales, I had the opportunity to indulge in this lifestyle.Pot Of Gold Chocolate

Like a beautiful woman, her intelligence and charm have to be considered if you are too fully appreciate her beauty. Thus, examining other aspects of the Milk Chocolate Collection is also mandatory if you are to cherish this fleeting moment. Pot Of Gold Chocolate.

Beginning with the list of ingredients, (sugar and chocolate…) one particular detail caught my attention. As a child my body had been unable to produce natural and artificial flavor, disodium phosphate and carrageenan, which coincidentally enough, were listed ingredients. This made me realize the thought and care Greg from Sales had taken in personalizing my gift.

Armed with a newly acquired map, the location of the chocolate treasures could be deciphered be it a full squiggly line, or a half squiggly line. Embarking on my scavenger hunt of deliciousness, imagine my surprise to have discovered not only a turtle-shaped pecan caramel cluster, but also a butter rum caramel!

We are currently in recession times, so had I known that such bourgeoisie-quality lay within, I would not have been able to accept this gift. Indulging in the turtle-shaped pecan caramel cluster, I was a little disappointed that it tasted very similarly to the milk chocolate with nuts. This indifference, however, was quickly attributed to my palette not yet being refined enough to appreciate the subtle differences in exquisivity.

Upon finishing, I was yet again impressed by the foresight shown by the artisans of this milk chocolate Collection. After I had finished the four recommended servings, I really did not want to eat anymore of their chocolates.

Thank you Hersheys. Were it not for your Pot of Gold Collection, co-workers, secret Santa’s, and distant relatives everywhere would be gift-less during holiday seasons and be unable to re-gift come the next holiday.
