A Seductive Oasis in the Heart of Vancouver
Dancer and Restaurateur Revive Arab Latin Fiestas
Vancouver, BC, Canada – While the rain dampens Vancouverites’ dreams of sunny vacations, one event promises an exotic escape: the Arab Latin Fiesta. Founded in 2005 by Israel-born Cuban dancer Chen Lizra of Latidos Productions and Lebanese- born Mona Chaaban of Mona’s Fine Lebanese Cuisine, the 5th edition of the event is back after a three year hiatus to re-stimulate the senses of diners and partygoers with the sounds, smells, and tastes of the Middle Eastern and Latin worlds.
Attended by 300 people each night during its three-year run, the event fuses the sensuality of two cultures: the belly dancing of the Middle East, and the seductive and sexy Latin world. The two founders also proved how women of conflicting nationalities could collaborate on a successful event. Producer Chen Lizra says, “The Arab Latin Fiesta is a magical experience. You walk into a Lebanese oasis, and experience two great shows by some of the best performers in the city. We take you away for one night as if you traveled. It’s an event not to be missed!”
A hookah room is available for the free-spirited, and two shows entertain diners and spectators each night. The first event on Friday, May 14 features Flamenco dancing by Karen Flamenco, and a belly dancing show by Shivaun Corry and Lana Gabor. Friday, June 18 introduces Portal a Tango and another belly dancing show.
